A Phase 3, randomized, double-blind clinical study of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) plus chemotherapy versus placebo plus chemotherapy as first-line treatment in participants with HER2 negative, previously untreated, unresectable or metastatic gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (KEYNOTE-859)

This study is testing a new medicine, pembrolizumab (Keytruda), alongside standard chemotherapy for advanced stomach or food pipe cancer. It aims to see if this combination helps people live longer compared to chemotherapy alone, especially for cancers that don’t have too much of a protein called HER2.
