Study to evaluate the effect of metformin in the prevention of hyperglycemia in HR[+]/HER2[–] PIK3CA-mutated advanced breast cancer patients treated with alpelisib plus endocrine therapy. The Metallica study.
This study, called "Metallica," looks at how metformin might help prevent high blood sugar in people with a specific type of advanced breast cancer. These patients are taking a medicine called alpelisib along with other hormone therapies. The goal is to see if metformin reduces severe blood sugar issues.
