A Phase II, randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind, parallel-group, efficacy and safety study of at least 48 weeks of oral BI 685509 treatment in adults with progressive systemic sclerosis
This study is testing a new tablet called BI 685509 for adults with a condition called systemic sclerosis. It aims to see if the tablet can slow down lung damage and improve other symptoms, compared to a dummy pill.

Randomised, open-label and parallel group trial to investigate the effects of oral BI 685509 alone or in combination with empagliflozin on portal hypertension after 8 weeks treatment in patients with clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) in compensated cirrhosis
This study looks at new ways to treat high blood pressure in the liver, called portal hypertension, in people with liver scarring (cirrhosis). It tests a new drug, BI 685509, alone or with an existing drug, empagliflozin, to see if they can lower this pressure.

Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled and parallel group trial to investigate the effects of one dose (up-titration to a fixed dose regimen) of oral BI 685509 on portal hypertension after 8 weeks treatment in patients with clinically significant portal hypertension (CSPH) in decompensated cirrhosis after their first decompensation event, who are stabilized CTP 5-7
This study looks at a new medicine called BI 685509 for people with liver disease and high blood pressure in their liver (portal hypertension). We want to see if it lowers this pressure after 8 weeks, helping to prevent serious complications.
