This study looks at how certain blood pressure and heart medications might help people with type 2 diabetes, who haven't had heart problems before, to avoid future heart issues. It focuses on a specific blood marker (NT-proBNP) to guide treatment.

Beta-blockers or Placebo for Primary Prophylaxis (BOPPP) of Oesophageal Varices Trial.
This study looks at whether a blood pressure medicine called a beta-blocker can prevent bleeding from small swollen veins (varices) in the food pipe for people with liver scarring (cirrhosis). Currently, we only know beta-blockers work for large varices. This research aims to find out if they help with small ones too.
