(ROAR) Reversal of opioid-induced respiratory depression with opioid antagonists - a pharmacokinetic pharmacodynamic modeling study in opioid naïve individuals and chronic opioid users under real-life conditions
This study looks at how medicines called opioid antagonists can reverse breathing problems caused by strong painkillers (opioids). We're testing these medicines in healthy people and those who use opioids, to understand how quickly and effectively they work to help breathing.
For: healthy volunteers · opioid use disorderNetherlands - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic confirmatory (Phase III)
Fentanyl effect on ventilatory pattern under sham postsurgical conditions – an exploratory study in healthy men and women – the FAME study
This study, called FAME, is looking at how a pain medicine called fentanyl affects breathing in healthy adults. Researchers want to understand its effects better to improve safety, especially after operations. It's a key step in understanding how this medicine works.
For: none · healthy subjectsNetherlands - Ongoing, recruitingPhase III and phase IV (Integrated)
L-NAC for reversal of opioid-induced respiratory depression
This study is looking at a medicine called L-NAC to see if it can help people who have breathing problems after receiving strong pain medication like fentanyl. It aims to find out if L-NAC can help them breathe more easily and safely. Participants will be healthy volunteers.
For: none · healthy subjects onlyNetherlands - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic exploratory (Phase II)
Comparison of multiple doses of intramuscular versus intranasal naloxone for reversal of opioid toxicity
This study looks at how well different ways of giving naloxone work to reverse the effects of strong painkillers (opioids) in healthy volunteers. Researchers are comparing injections to a nasal spray to see which is most effective and how many doses are needed.
