EMPagliflozin after Aortic Valve Replacement - the EMPAVR study - a randomized clinical trial
This study, called EMPAVR, is looking into whether a drug called empagliflozin (known as Jardiance) can help hearts recover better after an operation for a heart problem called aortic stenosis. We want to see if it reduces the size of the heart's pumping chamber over 12 months.
For: Aortic stenosisDenmark - AuthorisedTherapeutic confirmatory (Phase III)
Effect of Empagliflozin in patients with eGFR between 10 and 20 ml/min/1.73m2 - EMPA [10-20]
This study is looking at a medicine called Jardiance for people with kidney problems and type 2 diabetes. We want to see if Jardiance helps reduce protein in the urine, which can be a sign of kidney damage. We also check other health markers and any side effects.
For: Patients with renal impairment and type 2 diabetes.France - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic exploratory (Phase II)
Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of empagliflozin in the treatment of neutropenia in patients with glycogenosis Ib. EMPAtia.
This study is looking at a medicine called empagliflozin (Jardiance) to see if it's safe and helpful for adults with a very rare condition called Glycogenosis type Ib. We want to find out if it can improve their low neutrophil count, which is a type of white blood cell.
For: Glycogenosis type Ib is an ultra-rare disease · inherited in an autosomal recessive manner.Poland - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic exploratory (Phase II)
The impact of Empagliflozin on Left atrIal Volume and the feasibility of using Fitbit and mHealth to prescribe Exercise in non-diabetic Pre- Heart Failure (ELIVE pre-HF Study)
This study looks at how a medicine called Empagliflozin might help people with early heart weakening by checking changes in a heart chamber. It also explores using Fitbits to help people exercise more, aiming to improve heart health before full heart failure develops.
For: Pre-Heart Failure (Non-diabetic)Ireland - AuthorisedTherapeutic confirmatory (Phase III)
Prevention of cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury through the use of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors
This study is looking at whether a drug called Jardiance can help prevent kidney problems sometimes seen after heart surgery. Researchers want to see if it can keep your kidneys working well for the first three months after your operation.
For: Cardiac-surgery associated acute kidney injurySpain - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic use (Phase IV)
The effect of empagliflozin on peripheral microvascular dysfunction in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction
This study for people with a type of heart failure called 'heart failure with preserved ejection fraction' is looking at how a medicine called empagliflozin affects tiny blood vessels in the skin. We want to see if it improves blood flow.
For: Heart failure with preserved ejection fractionNetherlands - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic use (Phase IV)
Optimization of Albuminuria-Lowering Therapies for Individual Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Using Empagliflozin and Finerenone in a Pilot Remote Clinical Trial
This study looks at how well different diabetes medicines work together to protect kidneys in people with type 2 diabetes. It also checks how easy it is for people to take part in a study from home using digital tools, like giving urine samples and checking blood pressure.
For: Albuminuria · Type 2 diabetesNetherlands - Ongoing, recruitingTherapeutic exploratory (Phase II)
(21839) A parallel-group treatment, Phase 2, double-blind, three-arm study to assess efficacy and safety of finerenone plus empagliflozin compared with either finerenone or empagliflozin in participants with chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes.
This study is looking at how two medicines, finerenone (Kerendia) and empagliflozin (Jardiance), affect people with chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes. We want to see if using both together is better than using just one in improving kidney health.
For: Chronic kidney disease in type 2 diabetes mellitusItaly · France · Netherlands - AuthorisedTherapeutic use (Phase IV)
Reducing Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis
This study is looking at how a medicine called Jardiance might help people with a liver condition called non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Researchers want to see if it can improve liver health and reduce liver scarring, which is common in NASH.

Intraclass safety and efficacy comparison among SGLT-2 inhibitors in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. A pragmatic, phase IV, multicenter, open-label, randomised controlled trial.
This study is looking at how well different diabetes medicines, like Invokana and Forxiga, work and how safe they are for older people with type 2 diabetes. The main goal is to see if these medicines help control blood sugar without causing dangerously low levels.
For: Type 2 diabetes mellitusItaly - AuthorisedTherapeutic use (Phase IV)
Acetazolamide in combination with SGLT2i in patients with volume overload and acute heart failure
This study looks at a new way to treat acute heart failure, a condition where your heart struggles to pump enough blood. It combines existing heart medications (Jardiance, Forxiga) with another drug (Diamox) to see if this helps the body get rid of extra salt and water, which can build up during heart failure.
For: Acute Heart FailureBelgium - AuthorisedTherapeutic confirmatory (Phase III)
Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors to stABiLizE coronary atherosclerosis pro-gression after acute Myocardial Infarction in women and men with diabetes mellitus
This study looks at how certain diabetes medications, called SGLT2 inhibitors, might affect the build-up of fatty deposits (atherosclerosis) in the heart's arteries after a heart attack. It aims to see if these medicines can slow down or stop this build-up in people with diabetes.
