Aesthetic Improvement of Facial Rhytids Using Injectables

This research is looking into a new treatment called Revanesse® Renew™+, which is a type of skin booster. It's designed to make facial skin smoother, healthier, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Unlike other treatments that add volume, this one works by deeply hydrating the skin. We're inviting adults between 30 and 75, who are interested in improving their skin's appearance, to take part. The main goal is to compare two different ways of giving the treatment – either every two weeks or once a month – to see which schedule is most effective. We'll be checking how well it works using special measurements and by asking participants about their experience, to help doctors use these treatments in the best way possible.

What is this study about?

This study is all about helping your facial skin look its best, focusing on those small lines and wrinkles that appear over time. We're looking at a treatment called Revanesse® Renew™+, which is a 'skin booster'. Think of it as a special type of moisturiser that's gently injected into your skin, rather than rubbed on top. It contains something called hyaluronic acid, which your skin naturally has, and it's brilliant at holding water. This means it helps to plump up your skin from the inside, making it feel softer, smoother, and look more refreshed. The key thing about this booster is that it's designed to deeply hydrate your skin and improve its overall quality, rather than just adding volume like some other treatments.

We know that skin treatments can work differently depending on how often they are given. That's why in this study, we want to find out the best way to use Revanesse® Renew™+. We'll be comparing two different treatment plans: one where people receive the booster every two weeks, and another where they get it once a month. By doing this, we can see if one schedule works better than the other in improving skin health and appearance.

Your involvement would be really important. We'll be carefully measuring changes in your skin, taking photographs, and asking you about how you feel your skin has improved. The information we gather will help doctors understand the most effective ways to use these types of skin boosters, ensuring that people who choose these treatments get the best possible results. It's about making sure beauty treatments are based on solid evidence and give people natural-looking, healthy skin.

Key takeaways

  • This study evaluates a skin booster for facial lines and better skin health.
  • It aims to find the best treatment schedule: every two weeks or monthly.
  • The treatment hydrates skin and refines texture, it does not add volume.
  • Adults aged 30-75 interested in skin improvement might be eligible.
  • Participation involves injections, photos, and skin measurements.
  • There are potential benefits (improved skin) and risks (e.g., temporary swelling).

Who may be eligible?

To join this study, you need to be an adult between 30 and 75 years old who is interested in improving the look of your facial skin. You need to be able to understand what the study involves and be happy to give your permission to take part.

There are also some important things that might mean you *can't* join. For instance, if you have allergies to any ingredients in Revanesse® Renew™+, or to skin numbing creams like lidocaine, then this study wouldn't be suitable for you. Also, if you're a woman who could become pregnant, you'll need to use reliable contraception throughout the study and have a negative pregnancy test before starting.

We're looking for people who have had a stable skincare routine for at least a month, and who are willing to follow instructions, such as men shaving their face for consistent photos and measurements. Your safety is our top priority, so these checks help ensure the study is right for you.

Answer every question to see your result.

What does participation involve?

If you decide to take part, you'll have specific appointments over a period of time, depending on whether you're in the every-two-weeks group or the once-a-month group. At these visits, a doctor or nurse will gently inject the Revanesse® Renew™+ skin booster into your facial skin. We'll also take special photographs and use equipment to measure your skin's health and how well it's hydrated.

Throughout the study, we'll ask you to fill in questionnaires about how your skin feels and looks, so we can understand your experience. For male participants, you might be asked to shave your facial area before some visits to ensure consistent measurements and photos. Women who could become pregnant will need to take a urine pregnancy test at the start and before any treatment. The total length of the study will depend on the treatment schedule you're assigned to, but it will involve a series of visits for treatment and check-ups.

Your commitment to attending appointments and following instructions is really important for the study to gather accurate information.

Potential risks and benefits

Taking part in this study may offer the benefit of improving the look and feel of your facial skin, as the Revanesse® Renew™+ treatment aims to hydrate and smooth fine lines. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks. These could include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. There's also a very small chance of an allergic reaction, which is why we ask about allergies beforehand. You should always discuss these potential benefits and risks with the study team before deciding to join. Remember, taking part in a study is completely voluntary, and you are free to withdraw at any time without giving a reason, and it won't affect any future medical care you receive.

Common questions

What exactly is Revanesse® Renew™+?

It's a skin booster, a special gel injected into your skin, designed to deeply hydrate and improve the overall quality of your facial skin, making it look smoother and healthier.

Will this treatment make my face look different or 'filled out'?

No, this specific booster works by hydrating your skin, not by adding volume. Its aim is to subtly improve skin texture and hydration, not to change your facial shape.

How long will the study last if I join?

The total duration will depend on which treatment schedule you are on (either every two weeks or monthly injections), but it will involve a series of visits for treatment and follow-up checks.

Will I know if I'm getting the treatment every two weeks or once a month?

Yes, you will be assigned to one of the two groups, and you'll know your schedule. We are comparing these two approaches to see which works best.

What happens if I decide to stop participating during the study?

You are free to leave the study at any time, for any reason, without it affecting your usual medical care. Just let the study team know.
