Clinical Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Matrix Pro Treatment
This study is testing a new treatment called Matrix Pro for improving sagging skin and wrinkles on the face and neck. It wants to find out how effective and safe this treatment is. If you join, you would receive up to three treatments with the Matrix Pro applicator, spaced about six weeks apart. Researchers will then check on your progress one month and three months after your last treatment. The study is open to both men and women aged 18 to 84 who are generally healthy and have certain skin types. They will also take photos of the treated areas to see the results. It's a way to explore new options for skin rejuvenation.
At a glance
What is this study about?
This study is all about understanding a new treatment called 'Profound Matrix' using a special tool called the 'Matrix Pro Applicator.' Simply put, it's designed to help with common concerns like sagging skin (or 'skin laxity') and wrinkles, especially on the face and neck area. The main goal is to see if this treatment actually helps improve these skin conditions and how safe it is for people to use.
Researchers want to see if the Matrix Pro Applicator can really make a difference for people who are looking to reduce the signs of aging and achieve firmer, smoother skin. By carefully watching how people respond to the treatment and checking for any side effects, they hope to gather important information about this new approach.
The study is designed to be very thorough. Participants will have several treatments and then be checked regularly afterward. The team will be taking pictures and making detailed notes to track any changes. This kind of research is important because it helps doctors and patients understand which treatments are most effective and safe for different skin concerns.
Key takeaways
- This study evaluates a new treatment (Matrix Pro) for facial and neck sagging skin and wrinkles.
- It aims to understand how well the treatment works and if it's safe.
- Participants will receive up to three treatments, followed by check-ups.
- Open to healthy adults aged 18-84 with specific skin types.
- Photos will be taken for evaluation, but your identity will remain private.
Who may be eligible?
This study is looking for healthy men and women between the ages of 18 and 84 with certain skin types (Fitzpatrick Skin Type I - VI). You should be willing to receive the Profound Matrix treatment and able to come to all the appointments and follow the study instructions carefully. You also need to be happy to give your permission to join and have photos taken of your treated areas, which will be used for evaluations and presentations (your identity will be kept private).
However, there are reasons why you might not be able to join. For example, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have recently given birth, you can't take part. If you have a pacemaker, any metal implants in the treatment area (unless they can be removed or covered), or a history of skin cancer or melanoma, this study isn't for you. Also, if you have severe heart problems, a weakened immune system, certain skin conditions like active infections or eczema in the treatment area, or a history of unusual scarring, you won't be able to participate. If you have poorly controlled diabetes or certain allergies to medications used in the treatment, you also would not be eligible.
Could this study suit you?
Answer these quick questions to see if you may be eligible. This is a guide only — the research team makes the final call.
- Are you between 18 and 84 years old?
- Are you generally healthy?
- Are you willing to receive the Matrix Pro treatment and attend all appointments?
- Are you not pregnant, breastfeeding, or recently given birth?
- Do you have no severe heart conditions, active skin infections, or a history of skin cancer in the treatment area?
- Do you not have a pacemaker or metal implants in the treatment area that cannot be removed or covered?
What does participation involve?
If you decide to take part in this study, you will receive up to three treatments using the Matrix Pro Applicator. These treatments will be scheduled approximately six weeks apart, but there might be a little flexibility (two weeks either side of the six-week mark). After your very last treatment, you'll need to come back for follow-up appointments. These checks will be about one month (four weeks) and three months (thirteen weeks) after your final treatment, again with a small window of flexibility. There's a chance you might need a few extra follow-up visits, but this would be discussed with you. The total duration of your involvement would depend on whether you have one, two, or three treatments, plus the three-month follow-up period after your last one.
